Dr. Hana Gamal

Hanaa Gamal joined Al-Azhar University in Egypt after receiving a scholarship that she applied for to attend the university studies. She specialized in Tafseer and Qur’anic Sciences, and graduated salutatorian in 1992. She completed her masters at American Open University in 2006 and is currently working on her Ph.D. with Sharia Academy in the same field. She has been active in teaching Islamic and the Arabic language,she founded Al-Azhar Institute and Arabic Quest, located in Houston, Texas, in which she trains teachers to teach Qur’an, Islamic studies and arabic language. She also teaches classes in , tafseer, tajweed, fiqh of marriage, raising children, and Islamic manners. she provides marriage counseling services. She established a specialized intensive program for girls/women to memorize Qur’an with excellent results. She is the founder of Heart Upon Heart, a volunteer organization that works closely with the chaplaincy at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houstone, Texas, to provide support to Muslim cancer patients.
